Privacy, Web Design/Development, and Services Policies
Privacy Policy
Double-Time Web Design, LLC promise to never share your information with third parties unless required to do so by law or requested by you. All information collected from the client will only be used for the benefit of the client when applicable to our services.
Ownership of Website Domain NameWebsite domain names are leased from the domain registrar. If Double-Time Web Design, LLC were to register a domain name for a client, the client would be the registered domain holder (WHOIS data). Upon payment of any outstanding fees, the client has the right to use that domain name or transfer that domain name to another registrar whereby the domain name renewal and renewal fees would become the sole responsibility of the client.
Ownership of Website DesignUpon completion of a website design, as long as payment of design fees have been received, the client is the owner of the original commissioned website. The original commissioned website consists of all content (text, photographs, and videos) within the visible website at the time this version was launched on the internet; all original open-source code files (html, css, javascript).
The client agrees not to claim ownership over closed-source code files, system files, database tables, and proprietary platform files, or files contained/loaded within the platform.
The client agrees not to claim ownership over any revised files (any file that is altered in any way from the original), revised through maintenance updates, search engine optimizations, etc., until all outstanding fees have been received by Double-Time Web Design, LLC.
The client does not have the right to resell the design or development to other companies. The client does have the right to add pages onto the existing website or have another company add pages onto the existing website using the commissioned website design/development.
Ownership of Graphic DesignUpon completion of a graphic design project, as long as payment of design fees have been received, the client is the owner of the final graphic file only. The client agrees not to claim ownership over the working files, but these files can be transmitted depending on the circumstance. Working files can be made available to the client only when requested and only when approved by Double-Time Web Design, LLC.
Website Maintenance RequestsClients should request maintenance either via phone or email. Clients who have signed up for a monthly maintenance plan will receive maintenance within 3 days of requesting, unless otherwise listed on the agreement. Double-Time Web Design, LLC will respond via phone or email when the maintenance has been completed, or the reason the maintenance could not be completed with options that will lead to a solution.
24/7 service is available, when listed on the agreement.
Clients who do not have a monthly maintenance plan will be billed hourly at $89/hour. A quote will be provided before any work is done.
Search Engine OptimizationClients who have signed up for Search Engine Optimization (or SEO), will various on- and off-site optimizations. Double-Time Web Design, LLC will decide which SEO methods and techniques are applicable to each website that is optimized. Double-Time Web Design, LLC ultimate goal is to increase the position of the client’s website in a search engine result.
Website HostingClients who have signed up for website hosting agree to allow Double-Time Web Design, LLC to manage and monitor the webhost exclusively. No access will be granted to anyone outside of Double-Time Web Design, LLC (this is for security purposes only). Clients may request files and/or backups at any time, in accordance with the ownership clause stated previously. Double-Time Web Design, LLC has the right to suspend the client’s hosting account for unpaid fees after 30 days.
Billing and Payment PoliciesAll of our website design contracts include the amount of the required deposit, progress payments as applicable, and any remaining balance due upon completion. Once the remaining balance is paid in full, the completed website will be moved from the development host account to the production host account (to launch the website).
Payment for monthly services such as website hosting, maintenance, internet marketing, etc. are billed either monthly or annually. Invoices are prepared using Quickbooks and delivered via email. Payments can be made via check, credit card, or bank transfer.
Termination of ServicesIf the client wishes to terminate a website design contract, the client will be billed pro rata for the work completed and will be responsible for making this payment. The deposit paid after signing the website design contract is non-refundable.
If the client wishes to terminate a service such as maintenance, search engine optimization, hosting, etc., the client will be billed the termination fee as described in the service contract and will be responsible for making this payment. Generally, services rendered are non-refundable.
If Double-Time Web Design, LLC wishes to terminate services, the client will be responsible for all unpaid fees due up until the termination date.
Third Party VendorsThird party vendors may have separate terms of service agreements. Double-Time Web Design, LLC cannot be held liable for disputes with third party vendors. Double-Time Web Design, LLC cannot be held responsible for functional errors, downtime, or any other aspect of third party services.
Limited LiabilityDouble-Time Web Design, LLC cannot be held liable for compromised databases, checkouts, processing scripts, etc. that may result from outside malicous activity.
Refusal of ServiceDouble-Time Web Design, LLC reserves the right to decline to do business with any client for any reason.
Client AgreementClients who agree to work with Double-Time Web Design, LLC agree to all policies listed herein.
Changes to Web Design PoliciesDouble-Time Web Design, LLC reserves the right to change these web design policies and terms of service at any time for any reason.
